Introducing Trian3DBuilder 9.1.0 – Faster generation. Smarter exports. Greater CDB control.

We’re excited to announce the release of Trian3DBuilder v9.1.0, bringing major improvements across performance, CDB workflows, road processing, and modern 3D export pipelines.

This update focuses on helping teams build, process, and export large-scale geospatial environments more efficiently — with better compatibility, cleaner data handling, and improved rendering consistency.

Performance Improvements Across the Pipeline

Trian3DBuilder 9.1.0 introduces significant optimization work in key production workflows:

  • Faster generation performance
  • Improved road processing speed
  • Accelerated HERE RDF imports
  • More efficient GLTF / 3D Tiles model merging

Whether you are generating simulation terrains, digital twins, or large road networks, workflows are now smoother and more responsive.

Expanded CDB Support & Improvements

This release delivers one of the most important CDB improvements to date:

  • Extended CDB Version Compatibility and Validation
    • OGC CDB 1.0 – 1.2
    • Presagis CDB 3.2
  • Improved Attribute Handling
    • Improved separation of instance-level and class-level attributes
    • Instance-level attributes now only write values that differ from the class level
    • Attributes are now written according to the specification, including attribute width and precision
  • Additional CDB enhancements
    • Improved splitting of CDB objects from 3D models with LOD nodes
    • Objects moved from lower LODs to higher LODs are now blocked to ensure consistent rendering
    • Network vectors can now be explicitly written to specific LODs in the exporter settings
    • Improved handling of individual LOD limit ranges in preferences
    • Improved handling of transparent outside grid feature
    • ZIP archives for GS models are no longer compressed
    • Improved writing of PBR layers into CDB CS1 classification, for example night maps on models as S051

GLTF/ 3DTiles Improvements

Optimized GLTF and 3D Tiles merging for high-performance large-scale terrains

  • Improved model merging, resulting in better performance
  • Fixed the bounding box Z dimension for 3D Tiles

Road Workflow Improvements

This release introduces several improvements to road workflows and road network handling:

  • Road mapping can now be created in a negative direction
  • Improved continuity for road segments
    • Fixed segment scaling when roads contain changing elevation
    • UpVec is now independent from road elevation
  • Improved conversion of road networks via LUA

Improved Vector Import & Export

  • More Flexible Vector Import Rules
    • Vector attribute assignment now supports OR conditions, enabling more advanced filtering and automation during import
  • Improved Vector Export Behavior
    • Vector exports are now handled more intelligently and are no longer automatically split by vector type

Better Terrain & Data Quality

Terrain handling has also been refined:

  • Elevation striping artifacts in combined elevation data have been removed
  • Elevation smoothing is now applied directly during import
  • Improved clipping behavior at tile borders

Additional Usability Enhancements

  • “Search for Update” now launches the web installer directly
  • Added dongle information and handling to the manual to simplify installation

Why This Release Matters

Trian3DBuilder 9.1.0 is designed to support the growing demands of:

  • Simulation & training
  • Digital twin production
  • Autonomous driving environments
  • Large-scale geospatial visualization
  • High-performance CDB pipelines

With improved standards compliance, faster processing, and smarter export behavior, this release helps teams scale projects more efficiently while maintaining data consistency and rendering quality.
