Trian3DBuilder 9.2 is now available

Trian3DBuilder 9.2 is here, bringing new tools, more format support, and improvements to the 3D environment creation workflow.

What’s new?

The new Border Geometry Modifier creates geometry directly from a border and places it as a separate layer above the ground geometry.

The Unreal Export now supports Unreal Engine 5.3–5.x and Unreal Engine 4.27, including support for the official CARLA simulation version.

The export also adds support for switch states, exporting the geometry of all switch states separately together with their visibility settings.

The Unreal Export now also supports blending two texture layers – for example, aerial images with specific ground textures – using the Multitexture modifier.

Several formats and workflows have been improved:

  • Elevation: support for mirrored data.
  • Vector Data via GDAL: improved import and single-file export where supported by the target format.
  • OpenFlight: support mesh geometry type for import/export.
  • FBX: light attribute export, improved positioning, and support for merging objects.
  • CDB: improved performance and stability.
  • CityGML: the Building Texturizer Modifier provides improved texturing of CityGML models.
  • OpenStreetMap: OpenStreetMap attribute analysis and assignment to modifiers have been improved.
  • OpenDRIVE: road and intersection generation has also been enhanced.

Materials can now be saved and loaded together with their settings, used textures, and texture attributes. This makes it easier to transfer materials and textures, including PBR materials, between projects while retaining settings such as anchor and extrude references.

  • New GUI features and workflows have been implemented, and the manual now includes a more comprehensive and consistent glossary of terms.
  • A new Convert Geometry Files function also allows geometry files from a project or folder to be converted into another geometry format.
