While this is a minor release, it comes packed with powerful updates that significantly improve workflow efficiency and compatibility with external systems.
Workflow Enhancements:
Two new tools has been added to analyze the visibility of vector data from given camera positions and view points. That allows to easily identify which areas require higher model and texture detail
- Building Visibility Analysis (Building Visibility)
Visibility will be computed from a given point based on the distance, size, and height of the buildings relative to that point. This is particularly useful for terrain preparation in simulations where the view is limited to specific locations, such as control towers. - Visibility from camera perspective (Render Visibility)
Visibility analysis can also be computed along a camera path or from predefined camera positions. This is useful for simulations that involve a route, such as road or nautical simulations.
Import/Export Improvements
- FBX Export: You can now select the coordinate system that best fits your target application—be it Unreal Engine, Unity, or OpenSceneGraph, each with its particular axis orientation.
- PBR Export: It’s now possible to export PBR maps for OpenFlight and OpenSceneGraph formats!
Bright Earth Import
- This tool already introduced in the previous version now allows you to view and select all the projects directly from the web GUI, making the workflow even smoother.
General Improvements
- 4K Monitor Compatibility: The graphical interface has been updated for better support on 4K displays, delivering a sharper and more comfortable visual experience.
- Roads: Road connections have been improved, to prevent invalid crossings between bridges/tunnels and regular roads. Additionally, the system now avoids creating redundant connections when a valid crossing already exists. The Crossing Check Tool has also been enhanced with additional validation checks to ensure more accurate and reliable results.
